I had mounted this plaque on a cement pad and a slab of limestone around the school's flagpole. Leading up to this fixture was a brick walkway. I posted marketing flye I coordinated and planned a Blood Drive at Blessed Sacrament Church with the American Red Cross coordinator Christina Gargas. I posted marketing flyers throughout the community, signed up volunteers to assist me in working the event and also found volunteers to donate blood. My goal for the event was 20 pints and we ended up with a total of 32. A very successful event. I also sold pepperoni rolls in advance of the event to raise funds to give away gas cards in a raffle to those who donated. I was able to give away a total of 8 gas cards. more...

It was all unfinished/untreated wood, except for the verticals in which the shelves were mounted. The verticals were treated lumber because they are the only part of the shelves sitting on the cement. Below is a timeline: 1. Received permission to do the project 2. Completed the Eagle Workbook Pre-Plan 3. Received approval for my Eagle project 4. Spoke with the Howland Band Booster about donations to my project. 5. Raised the remainder of the money through a car wash. (8-26-12) 6. Attended Band Booster's meeting to acquire the Band Booster's donation. (9-12-12) 7. Received an official quote from both Lowes and Home Depot (9-23-12) 8. Purchased all of the materials for $312.56 (10-14-12) 9. Held a workday at my home where all of the wood was cut to the appropriate length. (10-20-12) 10. Transported cut wood to the Howland Band Shell where it was assembled into frames and then into the completed shelves; although, another work day was expected, we completed it in one.
