My helpers and I tore out the old shelves in the Howland High School Band Room and then after that we painted a coat of white paint on the back walls. Then, we splatter painted the walls and painted and installed the furring strips to hold the shelves. Next we measured and cut the wood for the shelves to length and installed the shelves. After securing them, we put black carpet on them.
